1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use rules. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service for an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.
2. Eligibility
You must be able to form a binding contract, or have a parent, guardian or institution do so on your behalf. Younger learners are welcome: a learner under 18 must have a parent or guardian provide verifiable consent. We email the parent or guardian a confirmation link, and consent counts only once they confirm (afterwards we keep only a hash of their email and the date). We may ask for confirmation of that consent, and we apply extra privacy protections to under-18 accounts as described in the Privacy Policy.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Tell us promptly at info@akilizakesho.com if you suspect unauthorised use. The information you give us must be accurate and kept up to date.
4. Subscriptions, plans and billing
The Service offers free and paid plans described on the platform. Paid plans renew automatically for the billing period you choose (weekly, monthly or annual) until cancelled. Prices are shown before purchase; local taxes may apply. Payments are processed by our providers (including Pesapal and mobile-money operators); we do not store full card or wallet credentials. You authorise us and our providers to charge your chosen method for the plan you select and its renewals.
5. Licence
Subject to these Terms and your active plan, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for learning and authorised professional practice. Any desktop software we provide is additionally governed by its own licence terms shown at install.
6. Certificates
Certificates of Competency reflect the exercises you completed in a simulated environment. They are a record of practice, not an accredited qualification or a guarantee of real-world competence, employment or certification by any third party.
7. Acceptable use and safety
The Service teaches offensive and defensive security techniques inside isolated simulations. With that power comes responsibility. You agree to the rules below, which are part of these Terms.
- Authorised use only. You may use techniques learned here only against systems, networks, accounts and data that you own or are expressly authorised in writing to test. Unauthorised access, scanning, interception, disruption or damage is illegal in Uganda and most countries, and is strictly prohibited.
- Keep it in the lab. Do not point the tools or techniques at the public internet, your employer or school's production systems, or any third party, without authorisation.
- Prohibited conduct. Do not use the Service to attack or gain unauthorised access to any system, develop or distribute malware for real-world harm, conduct denial-of-service attacks, steal or phish for credentials or personal data, harass or harm others, infringe intellectual property, or break any applicable law.
- Integrity. Do not share, sell or transfer your account, circumvent plan or usage limits, cheat certificate requirements, or interfere with the Service's security or availability.
Report security issues or abuse to info@akilizakesho.com; responsible disclosure is welcome. We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules, and serious misuse may be reported to the relevant authorities.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, its content, simulations, brand and the Akili Za Kesho marks are owned by us or our licensors and protected by law. We use only generic, standards-based technical terms and do not claim rights in third-party trademarks; likewise you may not use our marks without permission. You keep ownership of content you create; you grant us a licence to host and process it to run the Service.
9. Third-party and AI features
The Service integrates third-party tools (for example payment, authentication and AI providers). AI-generated guidance can be wrong or incomplete; verify anything important and never rely on it as professional, legal or security advice.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim.
12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end your access for breach of these Terms or our acceptable-use rules, or to comply with law. You may stop using the Service and cancel at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms. We will post the new version with a new "last updated" date and, for material changes, give reasonable notice. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda, and the courts of Uganda have jurisdiction, without affecting mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence.
