2. How we use cookies
We use cookies to keep the website working, to remember your choices, and — only with your consent — to understand how the site is used so we can improve it. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell the information they generate.
3. Categories we use
- Essential (always on): needed for the site to function — keeping you signed in, securing forms, processing payments, preventing abuse, and remembering your cookie choice. These cannot be switched off because the site would not work without them.
- Product analytics (opt-in): anonymous, aggregated measurement of which pages and features are used and where visitors get stuck, so we can improve the site. No individual-level profile is built.
- Preferences (opt-in): remembering choices such as your theme or recently viewed content to make return visits smoother.
This mirrors the consent categories described in our Privacy Policy. Nothing beyond the essentials is set until you choose to allow it.
4. Your choice and the consent banner
When you first visit, a banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies. Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage so we do not ask again on every page. If you clear your browser storage or use a different device or browser, you will be asked again.
5. Third-party cookies
Some pages rely on trusted providers that may set their own cookies — for example our payment processors (including Pesapal and mobile-money operators), and performance and analytics tools. These providers act under contracts that require them to protect your data. See the subprocessors section of our Privacy Policy for more.
Only if you accept optional cookies, we may also load analytics and measurement pixels from Google Analytics, Meta (Facebook), LinkedIn, TikTok and X (Twitter) to understand how people reach and use the site, including from social media. These load solely with your consent; decline and none of them are set. You can change your mind at any time by clearing your browser storage, which brings the banner back.
6. Managing cookies in your browser
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and set most browsers to block them. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site from working. Browser help pages explain how to manage cookies for your specific browser.
7. Changes and contact
We will post updates to this policy here with a new date. Questions about cookies: info@akilizakesho.com. Akili Za Kesho Ventures Company Limited, Mukono District, Uganda.
